What pre-treatment does the roof need?
Very important is a thorough cleaning of the roof surface, before the building protection mats can be put down!

KNUBIX® flat-roof mounting system – planning
Up to what roof inclination can the KNUBIX® flat-roof mounting system be used?
Deployment is completely unproblematic for roof inclinations up to 5 degrees.
From 5 degrees upward, installations will be decided on a case-by-case basis. (Local inspection, structural engineer, etc.)
What is the minimum number of modules per field?
The minimum size for a module field will have to comprise 3 x 4 modules due to the interlocking effect.
A separation occurs after 25 vertical and 25 horizontal rows.
What documentation will be needed for planning?
A customer information sheet – with all data provided.
Roof diagrams (if possible in PDF, VSD, DWG, or DXF format) with exact measurements of the constructions, compass directions, ridge and valley.
Photographs of all compass directions, taken from the centre of the roof.
Photos of the roof surface.
Photos of the interior of the building, from the bottom up under the roof.
What requirements must be met for the roof cladding?
Suitable for foil-covered or bituminous roofs without any major bumps, as well as for gravel or green roofs without any bumps.
Exception: Trapezoidal sheet metal (case-by-case decision).
How far away from the edge of the roof must the system be installed?
A minimum distance of 1.4 m must be kept.
What texture is required for the substrate/surface of the roof?
The roof surface must be safe to stand on, and must be generally even.

KNUBIX® flat-roof mounting system – technology
How will the modules be mounted on the roof?
The modules are mounted horizontally.
What elevation angle is available with this system?
20 degrees; in large-scale projects from 1 MW, a smaller elevation is achievable.
What materials will be used?
Only aluminium and stainless steel.
What will be the distance between module rows?
Span width – variable; standard span for KNUBIX® 100: 2.00 m; for KNUBIX® 80: 1.60 m (from module front edge to module front edge).
How will ballast be brought in where needed, and how will it be fixed?
Where required, we will place e.g. concrete rubble on top of the rail profile underneath the modules.

How long does a complete installation take on average?
Three installers can install approx. 13-15 kWp per day (incl. cabling, modules to inverter).
